The Seattle Seahawks will play their first regular season game outside of North America in franchise history in London against the Oakland Raiders on Oct. 14, 2018.

The NFL announced their slate of London games for the 2018 season on Thursday morning with several teams making their first trip to England. The Seahawks, Philadelphia Eagles and Tennessee Titans will all play their first games in London next fall.

The game will be at Tottenham Stadium in Week 6 of the 2018 season. It will be the first NFL game played in the stadium, which is replacing White Hart Lane as Tottenham's home stadium in the English Premier League.

The Seahawks have played on international soil before. They beat the Buffalo Bills 50-17 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on Dec. 16, 2012. It's the only regular season game Seattle has played outside of the United States.

The team has played two preseason games internationally as well. The Broncos beat Seattle 10-7 on Aug. 5, 1990 in Tokyo, Japan and the San Francisco 49ers beat the Seahawks 24-21 in Vancouver, B.C.

Teams asked to play in London are given the option of having their bye week fall the week after their game in the United Kingdom. If Seattle accepts that option, they would have a Week 7 bye next year. Additionally, an East Coast road game preceding the trip could be scheduled as well to reduce travel time. It wouldn't be a surprise to see Seattle's games against Carolina, Chicago or Detroit come in Week 5 to set up a shorter flight to the United Kingdom.

Britain's much-loved Big Ben will fall silent for four years from August 21, as conservation work is carried out on the famous 19th century bell in a clock tower next to the Houses of Parliament. The Great Bell, popularly called Big Ben, weighs 13.7 tonnes and strikes every hour to the note of E. Four smaller bells also chime every 15 minutes. The last bong before the refurbishment will be at 12 pm (1100 GMT) on August 21, the statement said. / AFP PHOTO / Daniel LEAL-OLIVAS (Photo credit should read DANIEL LEAL-OLIVAS/AFP/Getty Images)
